Weymouth Business Council
Having become the voice of the
Weymouth
business community, the Weymouth Business Council continues to ensure that voice is heard when it matters most. Whether attending Town Council and Planning Board meetings to support responsible and highly desirable economic projects such as the South Shore Hospital’s partnership with the Dana Farber Cancer Institute that now includes world class cancer treatments, under one roof, in the town of Weymouth, or to voice our strong opposition to so-called “spot” zoning
which can rezone individual parcels of land suddenly and without a demonstrable community need, the voice of business is heard.
A recent partnership with the Braintree Business Council to address the underperforming commercial village known as “Weymouth Landing” – whose boundaries include both Braintree and Weymouth territory – has yielded both political and private sector action that has led to $2.5 million dollars in improvement grants as well as government cooperation between the communities on difficult issues such as zoning.
