This Nurses Week, we thank all our nursing colleagues for the compassion they show to our patients and families—and congratulate Becky Primmer, RN for her recognition in The Boston Globe's 2024 Salute to Nurses. NVNA and Hospice recently held our first simulation lab training for our current home health aide team. Led by Education Manager Melinda Emery, HHA Preceptor Kim Bolduc, HHA Manager Alyssa Machovec Couturier, and OT Lisa Feingold, our aides received training on use of a Hoyer lift, use of a sit-to-stand machine, bathing techniques, and more. We are always proud to celebrate our clinical team and the excellent work they do to ensure our patients and families receive the best care possible. NVNA and Hospice is proud to announce FreightPlus as a Premier Sponsor of The 12 2024. Since 2015, The 12 has been raising critical funds for the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, ensuring that no family is turned away due to financial limitations. To date, the event has raised over $2.5 million for patient care in the 12 rooms at the hospice home. Please visit nvna.org/the-12 for more information about this annual event. NVNA and Hospice is delighted to share that we are one of 72 organizations who received a donation from Rob Hale and his wife, Karen, as part of a $26.2 million giving effort tied to the Boston Marathon. Hale, co-founder and President of Granite Telecommunications LLC, ran the marathon for the first time on April 15. “Recognizing the immense impact the fabled Marathon has had on our proud city, we are humbled to be able to make these gifts to wonderful organizations throughout our region that support our community,’’ Hale wrote to us and the other recipients in an email letter sent moments after he crossed the finish line at Copley Square. “Please take and use this gift to further your vital mission. Together we make Boston Strong.”
