Our BELD Mutual Aid crews are once again answering the call. Following last week’s April New England Nor’easter, we learned that our friends at New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, Inc. were hit particularly hard. In true mutual aid spirit, we wasted no time. We loaded up trucks and dispatched two of our teams to lend a hand. Throughout the weekend, our crews have been working tirelessly, and they're still on the ground for another day or two. Their mission: to ensure everyone is restored safely and swiftly before returning home to recharge. Take a moment to appreciate the #historic image featuring a plaque and the pole behind it. We are proud to say we received a national commendation from the American Public Power Association (APPA) for our support in electric power restoration efforts in Massachusetts and Maine. During the widespread power outages caused by the storm that hit New England on December 18, we secured Braintree, then promptly dispatched two crews to aid other affected towns of Massachusetts, and on December 21 sent another crew up to Calais, Maine who had extensive damage. With a strong commitment to safety first, all three crews worked with perseverance until power was successfully restored for all. The Maine crew didn’t get home to their families until late Christmas Eve. Great job by all involved. #publicpower #BELDcares #safetyfirst https://lnkd.in/eWK6Y8GZ
